If using PTE templates, incorrect pay rates may pull into GP payroll due to changes in how PTE templates process data entry - before GP 2018, if a change was made to one line, all lines of the template were reinserted and would update any pay rate changes.  However, due to occasional long update times, GP2018 only reinserts the line that was changed into the template - all other lines that have not changed are not reinserted, and since payrates are stored in the template, they will not update for the lines that have not changed.

Based on this functionality change, users should follow one of the below methods when using templates with PTE:

  1. Templates will save your rates on them, if you get new pay rates, your employee should create new templates to pick up that new rate if they are going to include hours on their templates.
  2. If you use a template AND include hours, then any untouched days with hours would remain at the rate that was saved on the template.  Any days with adjusted hours like my Wednesday example above will be recalculated by the code with your new rate.
  3. If you use a template but you do not include hours when you create a new timesheet from a template, then you would not run into the issue as all of your rates would get recalculated as you enter your time.
