Error message when you try to link to a Microsoft Excel Workbook in Microsoft Management Reporter: "The Microsoft Access Driver, Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB is not registered"
Symptoms You receive the following error when you try to link to an Excel Workbook from Management Reporter on a 64-bit Server together with 32-bit Microsoft Office installed. The Microsoft Access Driver, Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB is not registered.
Cause
Management Reporter reads data from a linked Microsoft Office Excel Workbook from the server where your Process Service is installed. In some cases this may be a 64-bit Terminal Server together with 32-bit Microsoft Office installed. In other cases this may be a 64-bit Server without Microsoft Office installed. Additional components are required to read from the Excel Workbook into Management Reporter, and the prerequisite components must be the same version as the Operating System. Note also that after 32-bit Office is installed, you cannot easily install the 64-bit Microsoft Access Database Engine 2013 files.
Resolution
There are two potential resolutions to this issue. Install all 64-bit components on the Management Reporter server where the Process Service is installed. You can uninstall the existing Office 32-bit components, install the 64-bit Microsoft Access Database Engine files, and then 64-bit Office 2013 or later. If the end-users do not perform work on the Management Reporter server, you can uninstall Microsoft Office and only install the 64-bit Microsoft Access Database Engine 2013 or later files.
More Information: You may receive a similar error when there is no installation of Microsoft Office 2013 or higher on the Management Reporter server. Matching versions are not required to export data from Management Reporter to Excel.
