Dynamics 365 BC Posting Date Range

Client Issue – Posting Date Range:

The user is posting documents or journal entries and receive this error message:
Posting Date is not within your range of allowed posting dates.

The system is looking at two places for the Posting Date allowable range.  The first place to the User Setup page. 

If the values are blank for a user in the Allow Posting From and Allow Posting To fields then the system goes to the General Ledger Setup


If the majority of users are the same – they should be using the General Ledger Setup.  The User Setup should only be done if a user needs to be different.  If doing inventory – it is important that as periods are closed, both areas have the Allowable From date is moved forward.
